7.5K buys you a Droknar's armor set. Not that much of a stretch. Salvage out the good runes from your earlier armor set and re-apply. |

I use a Ranger/Elementalist for PvP and often when the game begins people moan that they got a ranger (me) and not a warrior.
Often I find this insulting. Mainly to the fact that often have warrior who b-line towards me to try and take me down. I use Apply Posion and pin down, mixed with Whiring Defence and beat the pests to death, often followed by talk of being called a cheat and all sort. Personally I have a complete 1.5K Druid Armor and some good spells which I use in the Shiverpeaks Arena, and yes it is kind of cheating, but I did run to Draknar's Forge and Lions Arch so its my right to use them ------------------------------------------------------------------- Make Guild Capes Toggelable! Also high end armor (AL 60) is available in the desert from collectors, and a 57 AL set from a crafter just outside of Sanctum Cay. Besides once you're in the Droknar's area generating a plat and a half isn't overly difficult if you're willing to gather and sell everything you can. So there are alternatives. Oh and 51 is available in the jungles from collectors not too hard to get either.

The reason Rangers are looked down on is because there are way too many bad ones out there. Rangers require more skill then most other classes. Lucky for us Trap Rangers are in high demand for UW and FoW.

wow, yesterday i met some good people who are level 19 and 20, i got stuck with the frost gate quests, and happened to run into this level 19 person. I asked for help and i got it!
I guess it really depends on people mood and how they act in the game cuz so far i have met high level character who is willing to help me. |

Mostly people in FOW/UW/HOH don't see you anyway, and if you're really scared, just go sit in a place noone will find you Haha
And why should I care? As long as you have a 60AL armor, you got a perfect armor anyway.. You can't see if someone is good in the game just by his armor anyway, just that he plays alot So don't be afraid, buy the 60AL Droknar's Forge armor |

Really if you're going to the UW, the AL of your non-warrior characters shouldn't really matter IMO. As long as everyone is far back when the warrior aggros the group, and the others stay just close enough to cast their spells it's all good.
I go to the UW with characters regardless if they're level 20, have the 1.5k/15k armour, or if they've never even been before. You can run the UW with 3 people, so a group of 8 with one or two unprepared people isn't going to make that big a deal. Personally I prefer with the newbies to the area aggro a bunch of monsters so half my skills aren't going to waste when I try to tank. Sitting around waiting for rangers to set traps for one ataxe... that is just foolish. |

By the time you get to THK you should already have max armor and decent equipment (max damage or energy and spell recharge specs etc. with double mods). The thing that is really going to make a difference is your skill bar. If you haven't captured any elite skills yet you need to do that before you go to UW or FoW. Since you're at THK now you're only one mission away from Perdition Rock which is one the the richest elite fields in the game. Take the time to capture a few extra skills before you move on and you will be glad for it.

You don't 'run' from marketplace to kaineng. It's a stroll in the park that a lvl1 with no armor could do.

The high end areas... were they ever nice?
To the best of my recollection THK and Thirsty River were called the "boob trap" and the "sand trap" because all the really bad players got stuck there and spent their time insulting anyone who wouldn't join their gogogogogoomgnoob team in yet another failed attempt. There was however really a time when there were exploration teams being launched into FoW and UW, and any class could find a team. I guess that's what is referred to. |
